The victory marked West Virginia’s (10-7, 4-6 Big 12) 10th of the season as the Mountaineers have won 10 or more dual matches in three consecutive seasons for the first time since 1985-1988.

In front of the sixth-largest crowd (2,064) at the WVU Coliseum in program history, the Mountaineers honored 11 seniors and three-time NCAA champion Greg Jones.

To begin the match, senior No. 7 Jett Strickenberger (125) faced Arizona State’s No. 2 Richard Figueroa. An early takedown by Figueroa set the tone for the match as he beat Strickenberger by major decision, 11-2.

However, that would be one of only three losses for the Mountaineers on the day.

Senior Tommy Maddox earned his second conference win of the season in the 133-pound match, defeating Damian Moreno, 6-4.

Redshirt junior Jordan Titus followed Maddox with an electrifying performance in the 141-pound match as he faced No. 32 Emilio Ysaguirre. The pair battled it out through three periods but were tied to go to overtime. A quick takedown by Titus earned the sudden victory by decision, 5-2.

Later in the 165-pound match, No. 4 fifth-year Peyton Hall was dominant as he registered four near falls. He defeated Austin Scott by technical fall, 15-0, to earn his 126th win of his career.

In the final matches, redshirt sophomore No. 24 Brody Conley, redshirt senior No. 25 Dennis Robin and redshirt sophomore Ian Bush all earned wins for the Mountaineers to lock up the victory.
