Ahead of the Super Bowl, sports personality Skip Bayless made headlines when he alleged the NFL sent an apology letter to Lil Wayne after he wasn’t selected to perform the halftime show in his native New Orleans.
“A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers — his favorite team — but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has,” Bayless said at the time.
He later added that Wayne wouldn’t be watching a single second of the halftime show, but will be tuned in for the game. “But, he will not play Sunday’s halftime show, and he definitely won’t watch a second of Sunday’s halftime show,” Bayless said.
