Nebraska is still in the running for one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2027. Trae Taylor will announce his commitment on May 1. He is deciding among four finalists: the Illinois Fighting Illini, the LSU Tigers, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Texas A&M Aggies.
According to the On3 recruiting rankings, he is ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois for 2027 and the No. 12 quarterback in the country. He is also a four-star prospect.
While speaking to HighSchoolOnSI, the quarterback broke down why each school is a finalist and had nothing but good things to say about Nebraska’s coaching staff and facilities.
“A staff, as a whole, I connect the best here. And their sports broadcasting degree is top-notch. If you ask me, Nebraska has the best facilities in the country.”
Last season, Taylor threw for 3,061 yards and 20 touchdowns for Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL. Nebraska has been aggressive in their pursuit of the young signal caller and they will find out on May 1 if that hard work will pay off.
