Recruiting never sleeps and it starts as early as necessary. This is the case for one of the top quarterbacks of the 2027 class. That’s right, not the 2026 class, the 2027 one. One quarterback in that class has already garnered 35 offers, and Wisconsin is one of them. Recently, Luke Fickell and Wisconsin made a really strong impression on the highly coveted player.
2027 QB Trae Taylor may have changed his mind about Wisconsin and Luke Fickell.
Taylor recently posted on X about his visit to Wisconsin, in which he got to meet most of the staff, tour the facility, and talk about what it would look like for him to suit up in the red and white. His message on X was, “Spent the day @BadgerFootball had no intentions of ever going back. But have a wise dad. New staff, be open minded. Let’s just say I’m sooo glad I listened. Had such a great experience this trip. Will be back in the spring.” He then tagged a bunch of the coaches.
It’s a bit of a jumble when it comes to understanding what he wrote. He talks about two different visits, and the first one he didn’t enjoy or like, but his dad talked him into another one, and this one, he was glad he listened and went. He mentions the “new staff,” which seems to be a big selling point. Whether that’s the new offensive coordinator, change of quarterback coach, or even the new wide receiver coach. Either way, they made a good impression on him.
He is sitting on 35 offers but has yet to get ranked on 24/7. He holds offers from all over the country, including Michigan, Georgia, Colorado, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and many others. It will be a race to get his services, but with now two visits under the belt for Wisconsin, they seem to be in good shape, at least for the early narrowing of the list.
