Auburn native Gracie Giannettino will remain with the University of Rochester women’s lacrosse team in a new role.

Giannettino, who graduated from the university in May, has been named assistant coach of the program. Her responsibilities will include serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator.

The transition to coaching follows a sparkling career on the field. Giannettino, a 2021 Auburn High School graduate and member of the Maroons’ sectional championship-winning team that year, scored 144 goals and tied a program record with 76 assists in four seasons with the University of Rochester.

Giannettino finished her collegiate career with 220 points, the second-most in program history, and third in free-position goals (34). Her 3.55 points per game, 144 goals and 234 shots on goal rank her fourth in the program’s history.
