The Montana men’s basketball team has added a third transfer portal addition with Chico State’s Trae Taylor committing to join the Grizzlies.
Taylor, a 6-foot-9 forward, announced his intentions to join Montana via social media on Monday. He has one season of eligibility remaining after spending the previous four years at DII Chico State.
“Extremely blessed to say I will be committing to play at the University of Montana,” said Taylor on his Instagram post. “Thank you God for this amazing life and opportunity. Another big thank you to my family, friends and coaches for helping me chase my dreams since day one. Let’s work.”
Taylor is coming off a tremendous season for the Wildcats, his first as a full-time starter, in which he averaged 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while starting in all 30 contests. He was a second team all-conference pick for the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Taylor was ridiculously efficient on offense, shooting 73.6 percent from the field (153 of 208).
The San Diego, California native is now the third transfer addition for the Grizzlies along with Minnesota transfer forward Kadyn Betts and Colorado transfer guard Courtney Anderson Jr.
