Colorado football safety Shilo Sanders won’t have an opportunity to impress NFL teams at the scouting combine later this month. A complete list of invites for the NFL scouting combine was released on Thursday, and Sanders was not included among the 329 prospects.

Sanders played two seasons at Colorado, compiling 170 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, one interception (a pick-six) and five forced fumbles in 21 games. Those numbers earned him an invite to last month’s East-West Shrine Bowl, where he had rough patches during practice sessions but rebounded to play an exceptional game. This wasn’t enough to convince the scouting combine as Sanders joins fellow safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig and wide receiver Will Sheppard among CU players who were snubbed from the event.

Not getting an invite isn’t necessarily a death sentence for earning an NFL roster spot, as those three Buffs can look to recent history for encouragement. Former Buffs running back Phillip Lindsay didn’t earn an invite to the 2018 combine despite putting up impressive numbers in Boulder. Lindsay would land with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent and eventually grabbed the starting RB job and a Pro Bowl appearance in his first season.
