Tatiana Suarez put it all on the line in her title fight with Zhang Weili, with the American sustaining a horrendous injury to her leg.

At UFC 312 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, the 34-year-old suffered a unanimous decision defeat in her attempt to win the strawweight belt.

Following the bout, Suarez headed straight to the hospital to get checked out.

And now, with several stitches in her leg, she’s shared an image, showing the extent of the damage.

Tatiana Suarez shows off horrific knee injury

In the heat of battle, ‘The Cookie Monster’ was willing to give it her all to try and achieve her dream of becoming a UFC Queen.

In a moment of madness, Tatiana Suarez attempted to take Zhang Weili to the floor and somehow clipped her knee against the bottom of the cage, causing a deep gash.

While she didn’t make any excuses, an injury that severe could very well have had a debilitating effect during the fight.

The warrior will have to climb her way back into contention if she wants another shot at the belt.

She’s now uploaded a picture of her injury to her Instagram story, with several stitches closing the wound.

Going into the fight, Tatiana Suarez had a great deal of momentum behind her.

Having won ten consecutive fights, including a victory over former world champion, Jessica Andrade, many believed the wrestler could beat one of the pound-for-pound best.

But while she may not have won, the Ultimate Fighter winner earned the respect of the MMA community with how she handled the defeat.

With the dust settled, Suarez released a lengthy social media statement.
